Our trip up north was finally complete and once finished with Etosha we headed southwest to Windhoek. Windhoek is the capital of Namibia and a really nice city. It reminds me a bit like Cape Town only it doesn’t have the ocean surrounded it. We got there around lunch time and had the afternoon to explore the city and had our lunch.
Once we found our lodge and unpacked we spent some time by the pool and I uploaded lots of pictures to Facebook. As it got later we all cleaned up and prepared to head out and have dinner at the widely renowned Joes Beer House. The restaurant was really neat and the food was soooooo good. I just went with a nice juicy steak but just about everyone else divulged in zebra, springbok, kudu, and all sorts of other game. Although I went with beef, I was still able to try a little bit of everyone else’s food. Always a good strategy… similar to the jackal.
Sadly tonight was Kevin and Grainne’s last night. We all said our goodbyes and made to to exchange information. Kevin and Grainne were experiencing Africa while on honeymoon and upon getting back to the UK they were heading straight to Australia to relocate and spend a few years. Good news for me because now I have an awesome reason to go visit Australia!!
