Hey everyone, today I found out where I will be living and whom I’ll be living with. I also found out the school I’ll be working at! Kayamandi is a suburb of Stellenbosch in the Western Cape region of South Africa. My host mother is Julia Zulu. She is a Crèche teacher. Her Husbands name is Wellington and they have a granddaughter named Lelethu. I’m not sure of the family’s background yet but I did learn some things about their home. Good news is that the house has electricity and hot water! And I’ll have my own bed (hopefully loaded with pillows). Also, there is an internet cafe about a ten minutes walk away. Which for me is just under a half hour… not to bad. Looks like I’ll be walking a lot while I’m there though. The school I’ll be working at is supposed to be about a 20 minute walk away. The name of the school is Ikaya Primary School and the principals name is Mrs. Mgijima and I can’t even begin to tell you how to pronounce that. From what I understand the main language spoken in the school is Xhosa. We’ll see how well I manage with that. The address I’ve been given to use for receiving mail is as follows.

I’ll try posting a map of the exact location I’ll be staying. And I’m really trying to figure the best way I can bring a camera a long with me so I can post pictures to go along with my blogs.
I guess this is about an hour away from Cape Town.
Thanks for all the support and remember I’ll be updating this throughout my stay in South Africa. I’ll also be leaving the donations available for the duration too. A little goes a long way. Thanks so much for the support! Hope everyone is doing great!
